Dan Weant
Director of Tennis

Dan has been the Director of Tennis at Prestonwood Country Club since the program's inception in 1988. He is a graduate of Appalachian State University where he was a valued member of the tennis team. While at Appalachian, Dan won a Southern conference singles title and posted the best win-loss record for three straight years. Dan also holds a Master's degree in Exercise Science and Physiology from East Carolina University.

As a player Dan has won numerous State and Southern singles and doubles titles, including the N.C. State Closed 30's singles and doubles titles and the Southern Closed 30's doubles title. As a coach Dan was voted the North Carolina Association of Tennis Professionals Pro of the year in 1985 and was formerly the coach for the Raleigh Edge of the professional World Team Tennis League. A certified USPTA professional since 1985, Dan is currently a USTA Area Training Center coach and a USTA Zonals coach. A native of Salisbury, North Carolina, Dan brings 25+ years of teaching experience and enthusiasm to the Prestonwood Tennis Program.

   

Julie Corcoran
Tennis Shop Manager

Julie originally began teaching at Prestonwood in 1998. In 2001 she left to become the Director of Tennis at Briar Creek Country Club. She then returned to Prestonwood in September 2003. Julie is a graduate of Bowling Green State University located in Bowling Green, Ohio. As a member of the tennis team, Julie posted the all-time record for career singles wins a record that still stands today. Before coming to Prestonwood Julie completed two tennis internships at Amelia Island Plantation in Amelia Island, Florida, and also at Litchfield Racquet Club in Pawley's Island, South Carolina.

Julie is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and brings both diversity and consistency to the Prestonwood tennis program. She is a certified USPTA tennis professional with 15+ years teaching experience. Julie's husband Andrew is a former tennis professional and the boy's Tennis Coach at Cary Academy. Julie and Andrew are the proud parents of Olivia, born June 4, 2006 and Ryan, born June 17, 2009.

   

Mike Rayos
Head Tennis Professional

Mike has been the Head Tennis Pro at Prestonwood since 1996. He is a graduate of UNC-Wilmington where he was the tennis team Captain and MVP his senior year. Prior to joining Prestonwood, Mike was an assistant pro at Kinston Country Club in Kinston, NC and a staff professional at the Van der Meer Tennis University in Hilton Head Island, SC. A native of Toronto, Canada, Mike's teaching expertise is a plus for Prestonwood.

He had recently receive his Professional Tennis Registry Certification for 10 & Under Junior Programming receiving the highest rating of "Professional." Mike and his wife, Jennifer, are active in the Pet Adoption program and they have recently adopted a son, Luke. Mike is an avid 4-wheeling and mountain biking enthusiast.

   

Arlon Day
Tennis Professional

Arlon started at Prestonwood Country Club in October 2011. He attended Coastal Carolina University and was a member of the Men’s Tennis Team from 1996 to 2000. In 2001, Arlon graduated with a degree in Recreation Management and interned as a Tennis Pro at The Point Lake and Golf Club in Charlotte, NC. From there he became the Tennis Camp Director and Tennis Pro at the Athletic club at Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club in Sarasota, Florida. He is USPTA certified. Arlon and his wife Kim are the proud parents of two of little girls, Madison and Peyton.

   

Bevan Hewett 
Tennis Professional

Bevan is a native of Toronto, Canada. He played tennis at Mount Olive College from 2006 to 2010 where he was the captain for 2008 to 2010.  He held a strong record in singles and doubles and in 2010 was MVP of the team.  Bevan graduated in 2010 with a degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies with a focus in Exercise Science. From 2008 to 2011 Bevan was an assistant pro at Walnut Creek in Goldsboro, NC. From 2011 to 2016 he served as the Club Manager and Head Tennis Pro at the Neuse River Racquets Club in Clayton, NC. Bevan has ample experience in teaching men, ladies and juniors.  He is also USPTA certified. 

   

Zeke Marrie
Maintenance Specialist

Zeke is currently pursuing a degree from UNC-G in Parks and Recreation/Leisure Service Management. Zeke is responsible for the upkeep of the clay tennis courts and the tennis facility. He is also a great addition to the tennis shop staff. You will find Zeke in the shop ready to answer your questions, make court reservations and assist in shopping for rackets, clothing and string. Zeke is from Asheville, North Carolina.
