Prestonwood Country Club has added a strong asset to the Club’s staff with the arrival of our new Kids Club Director, Amber Gordon. After obtaining a degree in Psychology from North Carolina State University, Amber immediately started working with children full time in various camps and eventually at the Cary YMCA, as the director of their Tracking Out program. Amber has 15 years of experience working with children and has stepped into her new role at the Club seamlessly thus far.

After a 17 year career with the YMCA, Amber realized that it was time for a change, and sought a new opportunity that would allow her more family time, but would still include working with children.  She saw the open position that would arise due to the retirement of our former Kids Club Director Carol Beaird, and realized it would be the perfect fit.

When asked what she was looking forward to most in her new position, Amber noted “creating relationships with parents and families, as well as getting to know the children. The relationships are definitely what I enjoy most about working with children.” In her time away from work, Amber enjoys spending time with her husband, Scott, and two children (ages 3 and 6 months). She also enjoys visiting the beach and spending time outdoors.

Amber’s vast experience and genuine enthusiasm for this new experience is undoubtedly going to make her a great addition to our staff. We are extremely excited to see the direction in which she will take the Kids Club and we are certain that she will excel in her new position.
